A complicated story

Or rather not!

A short question regarding a visitor's/tourist visa not exceeding 90 days:

My partner and I plan on applying for Life Partner Permit. Unfortunately we could not do this in my country of origin, so it shall be done on a visitor's/tourist visa at a Home Affairs branch. So first a visitor's/tourist visa must be obtained. Now, the return date on the ticket has been messed up by me personally. It's 8 months from the departure date, which the South African Embassy would not be keen on seeing. Would it be wise to omit the return ticket and simply lodge a cash deposit (which I heard is possible instead of an onward ticket)?

What do you think bright forum bunnies?

Hi omitting the return ticket is not a good idea they asked for my now husbands and a cash deposit. Note the cash deposit will only be returned when you permanently return to your country of origin or when you become a South African permanent resident or citizen.

Rather try to fix your ticket than have your money tied up for 5 years
