violence escalating

I dont know if it is just me... but I have noticed that the last 6 months here in cebu the gun related violence and now recently so many police and other enforcers shot dead...

Is it from all the drugs now that are so prevalent in cebu or maybe the rise of the piso making it harder and harder for the poor filipino's to afford even basic living standards like 3 meals a day...

is it just me or has anyone else noticed this
