The salary offered is ok, but in order to answer more objectively you need to specify what specialization you have - pediatric , dermatology, ophthalmology, pulmonology etc etc .

For doctors - accommodation + transportation is normal benefit meaning all hospitals / clinics do this. As to your queries

1. Depends on your saving and spending habits
2. No international schools in Makkah, good ones are all based in Jeddah meaning an 80km commute for kids every day one way.
3. Depends on what apprehensions you have - based on facility, case diversity etc
4. Dont expect lot of professional "grooming" , peer guidance or career growth in KSA, if you are coming here for these you will be deeply disappointed. Saudi is good to save money, practice you religion, have a decent life and then get back home.

Regards,

thanks for input.mine is paediatrics.confused about education of kids.one is 2nd grader and other kindergardener.there must be something decent on offer for kids in Makkah whose native language in not arabic.apprehensions for private setup are mainly concerning about job security / employers commitment. can any body give some comparison b/w doc jobs with MOH vs private hospital in comparable situations. like which one is preferable/better. thanks.

Salary is fine , but if you are a surgeon you make more with commissions. Education is a problem for expats in Makkah since there are no good schools in Makkah area, all are based in Jeddah.

Job security in MOH is good, but with private depends on the practice you develop for them. Paediatrics is a good area and once you are established no need to worry about the security of job in private sector.

My personal opinion - private is better than MOH hospitals.

thanks for the input.all the help is really appreciated.

You are welcome.

Working as a doctor in Makkah is very difficult, from what I've heard. It is different from working anywhere else, even Madinah. My friend works as a cancer specialist in Makkah and she wants to quit every week. (She is Palestinian, raised in Saudi.) Hajj season is extremely difficult, not to mention the various Umrah seasons. She must work crazy hours - has in fact worked 80 hour weeks and complained that she wasn't properly compensated. Since I'm not a doctor, I don't really know what that means. Her brother works as a doctor in Jeddah and apparently working in Jeddah is easier.

She also mentioned that she finds the patients extremely annoying an ill-mannered. They come from all over the world and some of them are really awful and are very coarse in their behavior. She doesn't have a problem with the Saudi ones so much as the ones from Asia & other parts of the Middle East. Also, no matter your specialty, it seems that they rotate doctors during busy seasons so you do have to treat all kinds of people. Overall, she's not happy practicing in Makkah, though she enjoys living there otherwise.

Currently I am staying in Makkah, looking for job, If you can look into my profile and can give me an opportunity. i have 4 year experience in Cargo sales in PIA.
for more details i will sent you my Cv
I will be much thankful to you.
Have nice day.
Best Regards
