Hello everyone! We moved to Switzerland 2 months ago, and we are loving it! Our kids go to the local school in Nyon, albeit, when I go back to work, I am considering private schooling options. My kids are 7.5, 5.5 and 3.5...
Any suggestions? Also, we are a bit takens aback by how close the community is, making it difficult to arrange playdates for the kids. I am currently learning French, so hopefully when I am able to communicate, this might prove easier...

You have certainly picked a nice area to move to - Nyon is a very nice town and well situated too!
I've been here since 2009 (moved from the UK) and can honestly say it will get better as your French improves. The Swiss are not at all rude, but somewhat closed when it comes to "outsiders", so it can take a while to get on friendly terms with the locals.
Finding new friends here can be pretty tough, but as you already have kids that task will probably be made easier as you meet the parents of your kids' friends, etc.
