Hi, so we are actually trying to move and currently searching for a new place in Swieqi/St Julian's area. Well roundabouts there anyway. But a LOT of places seem to have electric hobs, and in some cases for us this was maybe the only factor in deciding not to choose a flat.

Electricity is quite expensive..so I can't understand why a lot of people choose to install electric hobs? Or does it really not make a lot of difference in the case of hobs?

Do you feel that substantially it is not more expensive than having a gas one?

Especially in multi-level appartment houses electric hobs/ovens/heaters etc. are preferred, because of safety reasons and because lot of people do not want or have no time to handle the heavy gas bottles.
