Quick question for the forum... Is it required a work permit to work in KL or a person with dependent visa can also work..
If work permit is compulsory then what is the minimum salary to get the work permit !!!

You either need an employment pass specific to the job or a LTSVP with permission to work stamped om the visa (unless it is a low paid foreign worker job that has own visa but again permission for one job only). There are a few other types of visas like holiday visas for Australians that allow limited work, however usually it will be some kind of work prmit.
On a LTSVP (which I presume is what you mean) you CANNOT work. You must seek permission to work form immigration. You can start work once you have submitted the application. Most employers though don't know this.
