Law in Finlind

I would like to know how much is the Finnish law is strict? Is it possible to cancel an previous "probation" ? any other possibility?

Hi damia1,

I have never heard the term "recommendation letter for good manners" before. Are you certain that you don't mean "Certificate of Good Behavior"? If you are talking about that then yes, a Certified Criminal Record Check or Certificate of Good Behavior are the same thing.

In terms of law, when one is given "probation" this is when a CONVICTION is registered by the Court. The sentence applied for that conviction is SUSPENDED and the individual is placed on "probation" and required to make periodic reports to the appropriate authority, obey certain restrictions and be of good behavior. This however, is a criminal conviction and is considered as such for the purpose of immigration. Unless you have obtained a Pardon any such convictions will be listed on a criminal record check. In most countries, after the passage of five years following the END DATE of the sentence, you may apply for a Pardon if you have had no other convictions. You should check out the Pardon process in your country.
