There are two ways that you may get a visa for Bahrain

1. Any of your relative sponsor you a visit visa.
2. You get a hotel booking here in bahrain who in return will sponsor you a visa.

You can visit e-visa website for Bahrain. In it, you can see the list of hotels for visa sponsorship in Bahrain and their contact details. I hope this helps.

aren't there any cheaper alternatives like can i fix it with a travel agent?

You can work it out with an agent but he will need guarantee too. And depending on the person he might ask you to pay an equivalent amount of money to that of.hotels.
