I know this topic about events and parties have been brought up before...
but i just wanted to know if there are any social events this new year's...embassy gatherings, parties, conferences....
I am looking to start the new year with meeting new people and making friends and all that...
any help appretiated...

I know the British and American Embassies are holding events. Have you checked in with them to see if there are any available slots?

I know the British Embassy will be closed today and tomorrow, but should reopen on Saturday. although it might be a bit late and their tickets might have all sold out by then.
