My Husband and I love Malta, we've visited several times, always stayed in private places to try and experience normal life, driven almost everywhere. We have always wanted to live abroad, the US first choice (which would probanly never happen!), Spain second and Malta third - only because compared to spain its further to travel and more expensive to move to in regards of car import tax, flights for relatives to visit etc.
My Husband has been offered a job that pays £40,000 per year in Malta. This is alot of money and although i know rent is alot cheaper in Malta than it is in the UK I think that most things are pretty much the same. So,i am wondering, should we accept this? its a big move and would we benefit?
I'm not currently sure what kind of state malta is in finacially at the moment and this is a big pay cut to what we are earning in the UK so would our quality of life on this wage be pretty good right now in Malta on this wage? Its been a year since we have been but even then going out and supermarket shopping was alot more than it was the previous time we came, and also, what about home internet access? as my husband is in software this is a must and how mush does it cost over there for a really good internet connection as the last time we stayed it was pretty non existant!
look forward to hearing comments!
