Expat blog meeting - Dilmun Club, Saar Thursday 15th 8pm

Thanks all for the feedback, there will definately be another gathering as last nights was such a good success.

I'm already trying to organise dates etc so watch this space.

Dave is frantically loading pictures to flickr and they will be posted later on.

If anyone has pics they want to post either send them to me via email or put them on here. Will be fantastic to see them all

It's such a shame you missed it.

Let's hope you can make the next one that I'm organising at the end of January.

Same place as everyone was comfortable there, the third one will be somewhere totally new though

Set up a forum post and organise it. It's the not knowing what date, time and place that stops things happening.

Find a place, set a time and date and then post it on a new thread. I'm sure you will get lots of replies. Only problem will be cost. A lot of people won't be able to afford the cab fare, the meal and drinks close to Christmas.

Congrats on the great party !
Thanks to Jo for organizing the event and for being quite active !
Thanks to all the people who came and made the nice evening happen.
The idea of Brightonguy sounds really good, unfortunately, I don't think there are such titles. You have different levels from New member to contributor for members, Team member for the site's team.

Anyway, I'll check with the team but I hope that organization will not rely on Jo's shoulders forever and some other members will take it as a challenge ! ^^

It was a fantastic evening and it's a shame you couldn't make it.

I know that Brightonguy was only joking in his comment about making me an organiser so all is good :-)

Oh I was just being sarcastic - she did a fantastic job and everyone knows how well she organised everything to the very detail, and made everyone welcome.

I think the determination was the key here. Set up a place, set up a date and stick to it. Whoever comes is a bonus and I think the turnout was fantastic.

Seriously looking forward to the next one.

I can't wait to organise the next one. Getting bored now!! Was thinking about the end of January but that may be too far away. I could do a Christmas one with your secret santa idea

I think the second week of January sounds like a plan to me. Everyone will be back from holidays so the attendance will be greater. Go on Jo, show your organisation skills once more and let's make the next one an even bigger success.

I am going to the Dilmun club later and will see if they have the candles restaurant available for us as the evenings are getting cooler. We can get the dart boards up and have a laugh.

I'm thinking that a Thursday night is best as most people are off work on the Friday.

I will aim for the 10th or the 17th January depending on their availability.

Looks like a great plan!
