Hello,
I would like to know if there are some companies you can recommend for buying private health insurance for the dreaded 6 months were we probably won't be covered as we have issues getting the E104 model here.
If it is not possible to list such companies here, even a private message would be great!

Hi Terni, I used Sjóvá for my interim health insurance: http://www.sjova.is/english.asp?cat=1233
Granted, it's just "sickness cost insurance" which means that it's more like liability insurance than full health insurance. My policy (the cheapest) cost around 13.000 ISK and wouldn't cover anything unless I had already spent 50.000 ISK of my own.
Overall, it was very easy to sign up for.

When I arrived back in 05 my company bought six months with Tryggingamiðstöðin. I didn't apply myself and I never needed to use it so I don't know how comprehensive the coverage was.

Thanks a lot for the very detailed reply. I have yet to figure out if I can get the E104 model here in Italy, but the info will be extremely useful.
