Finding accounting job - not in Malta yet

Hi,

can anyone share their experience regarding finding a job whilst still abroad? I am looking for a job as an accounting clerk. I have previously worked as an accounting clerk and I studied post graduate course in International Business Management in the UK.

But my question concerns whether it is worth trying to find a job before we move (January). I have had two Skype interviews with the agencies and have applied for tens of jobs but the answer was always no.

its much easier when you are here - mail skype calls and email are easily ignored but a knock on the door and putting your self in their face cannot be. Good luck - it shouldnt be too difficult as their are lots of accountancy /finance roles here...the only thing that may be a hurdle is the ability to speak maltese, even though this requirement is often not included/mentioned in the adverts.
