Im due to arrive in Dalian early next month. Is anyone familiar with the outdoor life?

Im a hardened 'lazy arse' and Im hoping to change my ways when I get to china. Does anyone know anything about the things to do locally... hiking, mountain biking, climbing... that sort of thing.

How about skiing and snowboarding?

I'm an experienced skier, it would be amazing if they had that here but i haven't found anywhere. The only outdoor activity i've seen is people on bikes.... i have started looking for water sports though

Sounds like one of us should start something. I know there are a few places around china where you can learn kite surfing but it's only one or two.

I'm surprised there is no skiing... The weather is cold enough surely.

there isnt enough snow in Dalian i think.. I do love skiing too being from Canada and all.. We get 6 weeks off for the winter so I will probably go somewhere to skii
