OH may be getting a job with a company in Gibraltar. Is there anywhere on the coast or inland in the direction of Marbella thats reasonably cheap to buy or rent property?

There are lots of places depending on your definition of cheap
Can you be a bit more specific on your requirements?
1, 2, 3 beds, pool, type of travel or maybe school requirements?

no schools needed and I will be splitting my time between here and there. Whats La Alcaidesa like please? Seen some reasonable 2 bed 2 bath apartments there.

Not much difference to any other urbanisation.
However I believe there are not many facilities on site and no public transport, therefore you would need transport of your own.
Please note I have very little personal experience of Alcaidesa
