Best thing to do first is to check out this website www.immi.gov.au this will give you all the information regarding visas and whether you can get one. There is a list of specialist skills that have priority for applications.
You could also consider a working holiday visa, or a student visa.
A Google search will give you a list of websites to check out jobs.

Because of the rising unemployment it is getting difficult for foreigners to get a visa for working in Australia. Companies do not want to sponsor people because of the cost.
Taxation is high, so are rents etc.

Sorry guys, but having just English Diploma won't help you to secure jobs in Australia, you should not forget, Australia is English speaking country and everyone can speak English here. So, you need to have some other skills which people in general does not have here. Like if you can speak other popular language Chinese or have some technical skills which are in shortage in Australia like Engineering, Plumbing etc, you chances of getting jobs will increase sharply.
Otherwise with basic level of English and without any specific qualification in demand in Australia, most of the people will end up in hospitality business like Stewarding, Cleaning or House Keeping.
You can look for jobs in following site:

I would suggest looking for job in gumtree, if you are looking for entry level of job.
If you well qualified and planning to land into a high end job then seek would be a good option
