salary hike for expate government employees.
As many of us who read newspapers and follow local events must be aware that employees of many government entities, like customs, aviation, kuwait air ways etc set a general strike two months ago, in protest to lower salaries and demanded for salary increase.
Ofcourse, due to those strikes which lasted for many days, the government suffered great financial loses. The striks were called off after the government promised to look into the matter and increase their salaries to their satisfaction. The financial committeess at the national assembly were discussing to set a suitable amount for different catagories.
At that time, news were in cirulation that kd 50 would be increased for expat government employees, effective from 1st April 2012. There were news that increased money would be given with the salries of June, 2012 but later local newspapers quoted concerned officials as saying that the june deadline had been expanded due to the aproval process of fiscal budget for the year 2012-2013.
Now well informed people say that the increased 50 kd would be adjusted with the july 2012 salariesl, means if the money is given with july salaries than government employees will get 200 kd extra.

Thanks for the info.Those rumours have been around for some time.But finally what comes in your hands is the only proof that the increment has happened.Kuwait is dusty one day,rainy tommorrow,sunny day after and so on.We can never know an affirmative decision until things are resolved.

You expressed concern on my post that expected salary hike reports were rumoursa , but it was not a but rather aconfirmed report which was published in local daily last month which quoted a concerned official as confirming that expat would receive kd 50 increment effective from april 2012. The delay in implementing the decision was due to the budget approval for fiscal 012-13.
The rumour turned ralistic as i got kd 150 with june salary. 3 month's arrears as per 50 kd per mnonth increase.
Hope that all minisrry expat employees will start getting kd 150 exptra this month.
