Healthcare in Poland

Hi,

how does the healthcare system work in Poland ? Is it efficient ?

What are the main differences between public and private sectors?

Is it recommended to purchase private health insurance in Poland?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience !

Julien

Healthcare in Poland takes some getting used to, I personally have to pay my own health insurance (until I am 65 then the NHS takes over), you have to travel to find specialists and often have to pay privately to get to see one quickly.
The treatment I have had has been good and examinations very thorough, I have found the staff mostly good, in spite of the condition of some of the older hospitals.
One bonus is that today I have been told that I can go into one of their sanatoriums for a few weeks R & R, no such thing in the U.K! the bad news, the waiting list is about 18 months!
