Got a Job in Mauritius.

Hi,
I have been offered a job as Software Engineer by an ERP company in Mauritius.Am waiting for the offer.
Thanks to Expat.com. I got this opportunity through this forum :top:.

I expect somewhere around 45000 MUR be paid as my monthly salary which might include accommodation and Transport allowance .
I would like  to know how much will be deducted as Tax?
Any nice place to stay near Good lands?

If I accept this offer, I will be coming with my pregnant wife.
I would like to know your opinions and suggestions.
I will really appreciate it.

I signed my contract last month.I am an Indian too from Mumbai. I believe there are 2 taxes one is income tax 15% and the other is pension tax 3%. After working in UAE, which is a tax free country it's a new concept.Living in a place like Mauritius , taxes are worth paying. I suggest you check out more on medical costs as your wife is pregnent.I am sure experts in this forum will give you more advise.
Cheers!!
Terence

Thanks Terence.. I am sure.. Experts will share their knowledge.

Anyone know better place to live near goodlands?
Are there are plenty of Accommodation houses available in Gooodlands?

Trou aux biches, Grand Bay, Pereybere, Grand Gaube, Calodyne ?

It shouldn't be a problem to find an accomodation in Goodlands

Thanks Julien!.
I recently got the news that the office will be relocted to Labourdonnais.. How good is the place?

will there be good accommodation available?
How about hospitals near Labourdonnais?

is it a town or village?

Senthil

No one replied.. Everyone seems to be busy..

My office is in Labourdonnais
is it OK to look for accommodations near
point aux sables, Mont choisy, Beau basin, Rose hill ?

yes you won't have any problem in these areas

Senthil

Labourdonnais is in the upper North of Mauritius. As such, an accommodation in Mont Choisy would be fine in case you need to travel by bus.

Should you travel by you own vehicle, then you could opt for Beau Bassin or Rose Hill or any other places nearby.

By the way, Pointe aux Sables is not such an attractive place. You will assess when you reach Mauritius.

Cheers;)
