can anyone tell me if its legal for a jordanian to marry a us citizen in order to obtain citizenship............while also married in jordan?     and how would one find marriage stats in jordan?

It is stated as one of the stipulations on the DS 230 "Are you planning on immigrating for the purposes of polygamy".  Since polygamy is illegal in the states, no he cannot marry you until his other marriage is over.  Not too much information was given but if he did it then there is legal recourse.

Because you are in the US there are laws about polygamy.  If you choose to divorce then you have the legal right based on this law. Writing to the FBI means nothing because it isn't that "federal" of a case.  You have to prove it, however, which means getting documentation from the courts here in Jordan but I don't think it would be a good idea to broach it as "slighted" but informational. As his wife you have that right.
