Hi all,

We invite all the ones who got married in the Philippines or who are about to get married in the Philippines to participate in this thread

What are the formalities to get married in the Philippines? Is it the same for a couple of foreigners of for a mixed couple (between a foreigner and a native of the Philippines)?

Are the procedures complicated?

How long does it take to carry out all the formalities?

Hi Armand, the formalities are virtually the same as any christian marrige, ask the parents, have a discussion with them, etc etc. However, you pay for the ceremony etc, whereas in western world, brides family look after it. Google it to find more. In the old days, blood drawn from Bride and Groom was mixed with water and both drank it. This might still happen in tribal areas to this day. Best Wishes, Mick
