Hi,

Am looking to get an idea of rent prices in South Mumbai. -nothing too fancy but a nice building with modern amenities. Possibly looking for a furnished flat.
Am moving to Mumbai in October and looking to rent a decent sized 2BHK nr the office which is in Fort.
Areas I'm thinking about are Colaba, Crawford Market, Cuffe Parade etc. Any contacts for good brokers is appreciated. Also what is the usual security deposit for a flat...

I would say you'd be looking at paying more than 1 lac per month in rent. It's expensive down that way. Security deposit will be quite high. For example, I rent a 1 bedroom apartment in the outer suburbs costing 11,000 rupees per month and my security deposit is 1 lac! Yours would be a lot higher. Sorry I can't help much more than that.
