Better hurry - grocery subsidies coming to an end soon in HCMC!

The Ho Chi Minh City Father's multi-hundred million dollar food pricing subsidy that has been running for many months is scheduled to time out shortly after Tet!

The price differentials will hurt even Foreigners. For example, Vina milk prices are expected to jump VND5,000 per Tetra package and similar increases will hit many products.

Co-op Mart, another city owned enterprise, is a major player in this along with thousands of smaller Vietnamese food outlets.

So start shopping for all those long-life food products you need and use.

Don't forget expect all major stores to be shut about a week commencing Tet holiday eve and make sure you get enough gas in your wheels, too.
