Visa runs abroad

I am looking for inexpensive ways to get my "visitor" visa stamp monthly. I would prefer to take a train or bus from BKK to neighboring countries, eat lunch and return.

Is there anyone out there willing to share their experience on visa runs?

Wil

If you are referring to visa exempt stamp you get on arrival then you must fly into Thailand to receive 30 days.  Land crossing entries will only get you 15 days.

Actually, Straydog, I was thinking more about going abroad every month to get the visitor visa. Now I think that is only possible for six months even if I go by air.

But thanks for the info. I appreciate your reply!

Sounds like you are talking about tourist visa.  If you are from one of the visa exempt countries you can obtain tourist visa in one of the neighboring countries that is good for 60 days. You can then extend that visa for another 30 days at immigration office in Thailand before it expires.

Thanks again, Staydog. I am currently looking into a viable "retirement" visa renewable annually. It looks feasible for me.
