There are Sorya and Sovanna shopping malls and they have a lot of the fashionable stuff, electronics and any every day items you might need, and both have the Lucky supermarket. If you want sports stuff, then so far the City Mart is the best, but there is one Adidas store in BKK1, I think. The road west of independence monument also has shops and Lucky supermarket, but if you walk around major boulevards or central PP, then you can also find plenty of shops - some are western style with a/c, while others are old style with just an open space with clothes on hangers.
