Any advice on how to get a driver's license in Chile?

If your foreign license is still valid then go to http://www.automovilclub.cl/ and pay to get it registered here (that is my understanding).  You can drive here on a foreign drivers license although once a policeman asked for my passport.  I still drive around on my Virginia drivers license and don't carry my passport since an attorney told me it is not required.

jaja i like how u tell histories. 6 Month is too much!, i think a normal chilean get this credit in 2 month... can be cuz chilean banks have all our information in their databases x.x, u know about DICOM? when a chilean dont pay in some store and the store send this issue to DICOM and with this you will have some troubles to find news jobs and request credit cars or money to banks. I dont know how its be in other countries, but here the data traffic is dangerous... i have listen that... the ISAPRES and Drougstores shared information about wich drougs buy what person to calculate risk in health plans...
