Hi everyone

We are hoping to move from Ireland to one of the near villages to Basel in France near Basel airport in the New Year. I was just wondering what is the situation when getting pregnant whilst living in France. My husband will be working in Basel airport. We are going to have VHI global and we are in the process of trying for children. Can anyone give me any information on what to expect, would I be giving birth in Basel or France, does VHI global all aspects of pregnancy. Bit daunting trying to figure it all out.....any help in this matter would be really appreciated

If your kids are born n France, then they will be automatically jus solis French citizens, whilst at the same time also being Irish citizens. If they are born in Switzerland, they will only be Irish, as Switzerland does not recognise jus soli nationality, or, in plain English, you are only Swiss is one or both of your parents are Swiss, regardless of where you were born.
