Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Colombia?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Colombia?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

To buy property in Colombia you must have a legal residency which allows you to have the appropriate documentation to buy a house, get a drivers license, open a bank account, get a job etc...
So the first step is to access the Colombian Embassy site and find out if you can qualify for a resident visa. Pretty much the same laws that apply to a foreigner in the USA are applied to a foreigner in Colombia.
