Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Mexico?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Mexico?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Hello Christine. It's certainly possible for a foreigner to buy property in Mexico. However, there are some restrictions. What is important to know is where you want to buy a home. Mexico is a very diverse country and rules can change from place to place. Please notice that not all lands are private property, as many aspects were inherited from the socialist system and are still part of the law). However, it's also posible to buy a home in communal land and it is pretty safe to do so if you find the right person and investigate well.
