Hi there,
I am planning to move to Australia and I would like to take part in volunteering for charities and non-profit organizations while I am there. I find that it is a great way to meet friends and experience the culture.
Does anyone have any stories or advice about volunteering abroad?

Have no clue about Australia as I have never been there.
Go to your favorite internet search engine and key in...
Transitions Abroad and Verge magazine.
Both have information and links about volunteering overseas.

HI, there are many grass roots charities in Australia and in particular many that support Indigenous communities, especially in remote ones. A good place to start is generation one. A story and link provided here
