Opening a bank account in Venezuela

Hi all,

is it difficult for expats to open a bank account in Venezuela ?

Which documents are required to open a bank account in Venezuela ?

How long does it take to open it ?

Is there any restriction for expats regarding the services (loans for instance)  ?

Which bank would you recommend ?

I opened a account while I was working in Venezuela. I could only get a checking acct with a debit card. A resident visa is needed to get a credit card.  5 years is needed for a residencia although there are short cuts if you want to pay. I have been waiting 7 years and have been told next year i can get mine.
