I aint African American.I am african.
Firstly Consider who is your employer if the company is a reputable company like Aramco you can come.
2:There is a bit of racism against black people  but generally you will find Saudi People once you know them are very welcoming and kind.
3:Outside the compound life can be hard:Wear an abaya all the time,You have to walk accompanied by another woman coz thats the law and some men here have never seen a  woman so be carefull some can be crazy.Kidnappings do happen and me i can never allow my wife to travel alone no one does.Maybe it can be different in cities like khobar i dont know.
4: Do u hate taxes?. if yes like me then this is the place to be relax here for a few years earn tax free money and when you go back to your country you will have made a good saving for the future.

For me its all about the money... if you will be living near Bahrain then you are set.

if you will be staying in a compound like the Aramco compounds you will love it.there is a lot of activities among expats

Hope this advice helps u decide

it depends on your work place , city and the compound

take care

hello
i am sure that u had wrong picture about saudi arabia
coz am working in one of the biggest hospitals in k.s.a and its full of south african nurse ,they been working here more than 12 years and still ,and what u hear about women must do this and women must not do that its bulls****t coz u had to wear black cover to cover ur body only (not ur face and hair) beside u dont need any male escort if u going out!
and the ppl her had an image about americans that they are whites!! lol and even ppl in saudi arabia have no problems with clour or nationalty(expet israel) .
if you come you will see black ppl even more than u.s.
good luck and happy to help ya any time dear

Anita1231,
welcome you in SA, this is not true.I'm sure you will realize that when you get to Saudi Arabia.

Hi,
My name is Katie and I have a female friend who is considering a professional opportunity as a nurse in Saudi Arabia. Being a female of visible minority, she is having mixed feelings and is unsure what to expect.
She would appreciate any advice, comments, recent stories, do's and don'ts - any thing helpful from nurses currently living there or having worked there recently.

Thanks!
K

Anita - did you end up going to SA? If so, what was your experience like? If not, why not?

Thanks!
K

If she wears a niqab and is muslim there wont be an issue.

Joseph

Hello

For info Katiem068, you participated on Anita's thread created in 2009 and she is not active since. You may not receive any response from her.

You could create a new thread to introduce your expatriation project and ask your questions so that members can help you clear your doubts.
