Public transportation in Fiji

Hi all,

What do you think about the means of transportation in Fiji ?

Is the network of means of transportation well developed? What modes of transport are available?

Do you use them?

How much is a fare?

Are they relatively safe?

What is the mean of transportation you use the most in Fiji?

Thanks in advance for participating!

for travel about fiji you can use a rental car cost about fj$150 upwards a day its about us$80
the bus is about $30 from nadi airport to suva one way
the mini bus is fast and not so safe about fj$15 to $20 from nadi airport to suva
taxi get them to use the meter within the town area ,all the prices are in fiji dollars abut fj$6 from airport to nadi town

workers get the mini bus from one town to another as its cheaper and faster

if you drink and drive and get caught in the long weekend you will spend the whole weekend locked up until the courts open and then you get a court date to atend the hearing ive been told by someone locked up that you share a cell with anyone and everyone.you get a fiji bun (big bread roll) and a bottle of tea in a used coke bottle for a meal, so if you drive in fiji dont drink and drive, its cheaper to catch a taxi we all do.

its about fj $120 to fly one way from nadi to suva takes about an hr or less you get off in nausori the nearest town and catch a $10 taxi to the main city suva they will usually drop you anywere you want it think.

the smaller the town the harder it is to find public transport the roads are easy to follow so its easy to get a rental car, and you can use your licence from most countries just check online LTA FIJI

visitors usually say the fiji drivers are crazy but ive just come back from china, now thats crazy
the fiji dollar is half the US$ to give you some idea of the price range
