taxis aare the main transpo for expats who don't have cars yet. they are safe (as per experience) but some drivers don't know straight English, so you have to communicate with some sign-language. There are buses also, on-schedule,to Muscat, and some other places in Oman,and to UAE. fare for buses are cheaper around 4 r.o. to Mct. hope this hepls
