Hi ALL, my soon to be 'better half' tells me there is a tax payable on rented apartments in Saigon.
She thinks this tax is based on 10% of the monthly rent.
Can someone please confirm this - plus any other little costs I will need to know about while renting there ?

Depends on the landlord and you. If you require a red receipt then yes it will be more than the listed price. For example, if you have a company that will pay for your rent. But the price is negotiated before you commit.
