My name is Erick Raymond Bowen; I am a South African citizen and a Sworn Translator and Interpreter for The Supreme Court of South Africa in Spanish - English/ English – Spanish, with many years of experiences in different subject’s fields, including; Protocol, Guest Management, Marketing, Sales, and Tourism. I am currently on assignment in Curitiba Brazil; I do speak 3 languages fluently including: English, Spanish, Portuguese and I have a good knowledge of French.

I have worked as a Public Relation Officer, having been qualified as a Protocol Specialist for Government Affairs Diploma from the Diplomatic School "Andres Bello" in Santiago Chile

I would like to explore the possibility of applying for any position available; VIP Lounge ,Guest Service Manager, Concierge, Housekeeping Executive; Translator and Interpreter, Personal assistant or executive secretary of sales and marketing director, Guest Relations Coordinator, or any other vacancy that will suit my work profile.
I did also worked for the South African Tourism Board at Jan smuts Airport as a Public Relation Officer Part of the South African Government in as Protocol and language Specialist many years ago. I have an excellent Knowledge of South Africa…passed my entire exam’s with SA tourism 90% and above.

As a Protocol Officer I am aware that my duties are:

• Organize and plan for official visits within their jurisdiction, such as the visits of foreign delegations, the diplomats and the royal family. Generally, they offer hospitality and ceremonial events as well as providing advisory or consulting services related to protocol matters. These officers also ensure that before an event takes place, Mister/Madam vice, all the interested parties and the president have a biographical sketch of the guests. They give the escort officers information on the specific protocol requirements concerning the guests.

• The seating arrangement for the high table is determined by these officers, and they ensure that all the expected guests receive their formal invitations early enough. During the event, they are responsible for assisting the escort officers where and when necessary as well as establishing the necessary procedures for receiving the RSVPs. They determine the dress code for that occasion and the type of gifts to be offered depending on the type of event.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate details of events such as conferences, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, charity events, surprise parties, trade shows, sales meetings, business meetings, employee appreciation events and virtual events.
• Calculate budgets and ensure they are adhered to.
• Book talent, including musicians, bands, and disc jockeys.
• Select chefs or catering companies to prepare food for event.
• Sample food and select dishes for menus.
• Visit venue to plan layout of seating and decorations.
• Schedule speakers, vendors, and participants.
• Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Initiates, coordinates and/or participates in all efforts to publicize event.
• Edit and design promotional materials.
• Prepare presentations.
• Develop and oversee fundraising events.
• Negotiate and secure event space.
• Secure sponsorships.
• Work with printer and designer to develop event invitations.
• Create invitee list.
• Send out invitations and manage RSVP list.
• Hire staff to manage the event, including bouncers and security personnel.
• Manage correspondence.
• Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support and pre- and post-event evaluations.
• Keep inventory of backdrops, projectors, computers, and other display materials.



As a translator I have experience and managed in Spanish and Portuguese and French the following;

• Writing engaging and accurate digital content for numerous websites including writing tours, facts and information, hotel and destination reviews
• Collating content and imagery from individual hotels, lodges and other suppliers
• Editing existing content according to new templates and style guidelines
• Sourcing, editing, resizing and captioning images
• Working methodically and meeting deadlines for content creation projects
• Writing content for blogs, newsletters, press releases and other marketing collateral
• Translation of all documents including technical and medical documents
• Interpreting for conferences and International business meetings and court interpreting.

As Guest Service Manager I am aware that;

• I should make sure that the guests are being greeted well and that they are being attended promptly and are being offered the best possible services. I am also responsible for providing high end level support and information to the guests and am responsible for handling the financial transactions and assisting the customers in their reservations.
• To oversee the duties of the front staff by monitoring the expected bookings, to make sure that the guests are being welcomed and greeted in an appropriate manner and that their registration and check in procedures have been carried out in a warm and friendly manner
• To see that the staff members are handling the special needs of the guests like providing vehicle valet service, causing minimum disturbance, making arrangements for luggage collection as well as storage, ensuring that messages for guests have been promptly conveyed, to note down the complaints of the guests, etc.
• To make sure that the guests follow the rules and regulations, to take care that the telephone calls have been handled properly, to provide additional information to the guests about the tourist spots, and to ensure that the check out procedures of the guests are executed in a friendly manner
• To post all the relevant charges to the appropriate account, to provide the itemized bills to the guests, and make sure that they are delivered promptly and are accurate
• To generate accounts that are in accordance with the needs and ensuring adherence with the department's policies
• To maximize the sales by providing the guests with additional information regarding its products and services, and to make sure that the guests are satisfied, so that they will be tempted to visit again, thus ensuring better business
• In addition to the above duties, I am equally responsible for training and mentoring the junior and new staff members in developing their professional skills and updating them with knowledge regarding policies, handling of guests in front office, and providing relevant information on reservation handling. I have to also make sure that the intoxicated guests are directed in a proper manner, so that there is minimum risk to the other guests. While dealing with such issues, he/she acts in a professional manner and applies techniques related to conflict resolution. I must ensure that the work place remains clean, neat, and tidy. Thus, a guest relations manager is responsible for overseeing and supervising the activities of the front staff, so that all the customers are satisfied and content.

I have successfully completed My South African Specialist Course.

Until recently I taught Spanish Language at the University of the Witwatersrand one of the most prestigious Universities in Africa.

I am excellent as a PA organizing events and communication at any level, and all travel requirements.

I am a Chilean and South African Passport Holder.
