I am a Scottish woman who is looking for a position as a French and/or Spanish into English Translator,
a Translation Project Manager, or an Administrator with English.

I have eight years experience as a French and Spanish into English translator and proofreader specialising in business (company reports, contracts and corporate communications), tourism and international development. I keep up-to-date with developments in my specialist fields and have undertaken courses to build on my knowledge. I took a translation project management course during my masters degree and undertook a student placement with a well known translation agency in the UK, which provided me with a thorough understanding of translation project management. I also have three years' administration experience for private financial companies and government offices in both in the UK and France

I am able to relocate immediately.

• I have over fifteen years of experience working with Microsoft Office
• My work in several customer service roles means I have developed good interpersonal skills
• I speak fluent French and Spanish
• My work as a translator means I have to explain the translation process to potential clients both over the phone and by email. When I was an English teacher I had to explain grammar points to students using language they would understand but without patronising them
• My work as a translator means I have developed an excellent organisational skills because I have to manage my time when planning projects and clients' expectations on a daily basis.
• My work as a translator means I often have to manage several projects at once and this has led to my developing the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Both my work as a translator and as an administrator involved working independently (in the latter role management often requested me to organise projects), using initiative and working proactively with limited supervision.
• As an EFL Teacher I was required to work as a team to prepare lesson plans. This meant that individual teachers had less work to do and ensured that the students had the best possible lessons.
• My translation work always requires accuracy and attention to detail
• My translation work always requires discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
