You’re passionate about technology, detail-oriented, and eager to seek out new challenges. You’ve worked in tech or IT, but the rat race just isn’t for you right now. Maybe you’re a parent, or you’re transitioning careers, or you’ve moved to a place that’s not exactly the center of the tech universe. You’re looking for a way to work freelance, from wherever you want, at convenient times, but marketing yourself is torture. You like to get stuff done, not talk about getting stuff done.

If this sounds like you, you might be a great testing team leader at test IO. At test IO, our software testers work with great companies from around the world, making sure their apps are customer-ready. As a testing team lead, you support our testers while making sure the tests we’ve run are ready for our customers. This means:

- Verifying that our customers have set up tests properly, so testers can test applications successfully.
- Making sure our testers’ reports meet our quality standards and fit the test scope.
- Coaching junior testers to help them become more successful.
- Making sure that what we deliver valuable insights to our customers every time, and sounding the alarm when things are going sideways.
- You will collaborate with other team leaders and with test IO’s community managers and customer success managers, mostly over Slack. At most times, there are multiple people active and ready to help.

- The role is 100% remote, and you can work from anywhere where you have a PC and an internet connection.
- You will receive offers to participate in software test cycles. You are under no obligation to accept those offers, and won’t be penalized if you don’t. If you’re seeking more work, you can accept more test cycles -- you don’t need to market yourself or otherwise compete or be interviewed for each test cycle or customer.
- You are paid for each issue you review, and for review of test cycles themselves.

- You’ve worked in IT or in a tech company, ideally as a software tester/QA person, project manager, or other role involved in the software development, configuration, or release process. You’re comfortable with pre-release software and know what it means to test it.
- You communicate clearly and concisely in written English, with bonus points for other European languages and Japanese. You’re familiar with the specialized language of bug reports.
- You have an attention to detail that some people might find weird, but is normal to you.
- You're available regularly for work.
