We are looking for part-time and full-time instructors to fill teaching positions in courses typically offered in the freshman and sophomore liberal arts program at the Connect Institute. Graduate and Ph.D. students with classroom experience are also welcome to apply. The times and days of the week each course is offered can be scheduled depending on instructors availability. Responsibilities of instructors include, but are not limited to, course planning, student advising, interacting with students outside of class, and holding office hours. The standard rate is $50 per hour. The courses will be offered starting September 2016.

Introduction to Music
Methods of Reasoning
CFS 38, Lifespan Development, 3 credits This course covers a balanced study of basic theories, research, applications and principles of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development from birth to death. It includes behavior, sexuality, nutrition, health, stress, environmental relationships, and implications of death and dying.
MUSIC 9, Introduction to Music, 3 This is an introductory music appreciation course. Students will be asked to listen to various pieces of western music, and identify key elements such as the period of writing and the instrumentation. Music theory and aesthetics will be studied, including notation of rhythm and pitch. Students need not have the ability to play an instrument.
PHIL 25, Methods of Reasoning, 3 credits This course examines methods of good reasoning; identification of argument structure, development of skills in deductive and inductive reasoning, assessing observations and testimony reports, language and reasoning and logical fallacies.

The International Studies Program (ISP) of Connect Institute offers students the chance to earn certifiable course credits for a four year U.S. undergraduate degree right here in Myanmar. The freshman and sophomore years of study take place in Yangon and are composed of General Education courses required by all U.S. college students. Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the rigorous educational standards and student life of U.S. universities during this time.
