What I am looking for

I am currently looking for Accounts Assistant,Accounts Payable,Accounts Receivable, Finance Assistant,Assistant Management Accountant,Accounts Clerk Job opportunities.I am a Qualified Accounting Technician. I obtained the AAT Qualification in September 2010.I can speak French fluently and I have also obtained a French with Business Management Degree. I have worked for a broad range of companies from Smes to Multinationals. I am very ambitious which is encapsulated by my ascend up the career ladder from a customer Assistant at Marks and Spencer to a French Accounts Assistant at Netnames (a global leader in domains name and brand protection management) and Accounts Assistant at Demandware(world leading cloud software technology company) .I have a good track record of achieving set targets for the recovery of payments for outstanding invoices and a wealth of experience working as an Accounts Assistant with a global perspective. I have utilised a variety of accounting systems from,Navision,Oracle, sageline50,Sap One Business and QuickBooks.

I am a very competent user of excel (Vlookups,PivotTables,if,Sumifs,Countif,Sumproduct, lookup, excel shortcuts Concatenate,Index,Match,Mid,Advanced Filters,Array formulas(CSE)).I am immediately available.

I have a meticulous understanding of fundamental accounting principles such as double entry, accruals, prepayments, accumulated fixed assets depreciation. I have posted month end journals such as accruals(accrued costs/income) and prepayments(prepaid costs/prepaid income).I understand the importance of accurately apportioning invoice amounts(accruals/prepayments) to ensure all the costs and revenues relating to a particular period are recorded within that period. At the month end I was expected to reconcile the closing balances for the prepayments and Accruals Accounts with the prepayments and Accruals schedules to ensure the movement from the last period to the new period is correct and accurately posted to minimise the risk of errors arising during an audit and minimise impact on future financial decisions making such as an understated Prepayment account which could result in unnecessarily acquiring more insurance cover and this will have a detrimental impact on cash flow . I have accurately reconciled more than 130 Balance Sheet accounts (Accrual,Investment ,Capital, Bank ,Intercompany)when I worked as a Financial Control Assistant at BGC Partners ensuring the Financial statement gave a true and fair view of the financial position and Financial performance thus minimising any negative impact on future financial decisions.

In my previous role at Netnames ,I was expected to perform multi- currency Bank reconciliations of four bank accounts on a monthly basis thus I intimately understand the importance of accurately recording bank receipts and bank payments . Firstly in order to ensure aged debtor report balances are up to date thus minimising the risk of chasing customers for paid invoices which could damage professional relationships with clients and result in a surge in bad debts which would affect cash inflows.Secondly to ensure aged creditor balances are up to date thus assuring only overdue invoices are paid and duplicated payments are avoided which would reduce finite cashflow resources .Thirdly to ensure cash flow balances are up to date by ensuring all bank receipts and bank payments are included on the cash flow forecast to help identify periods of cash surplus and cash shortage .Finally in order to ensure the bank closing balances are correct thus the financial statement give a true and fair view of the financial position and performance of the company minimising any negative impact on future financial decision such as investments.

I am profoundly aware of the main priorities of the purchase ledger such as maintaining an up to date Purchase ledger through regular reconciliation of creditor statements ,regular balance sheet reconciliations of creditor accounts, accurate allocation of supplier payments, credit notes, discounts received, contras, refunds to ensure only overdue invoices are settled thus avoiding an overpayment to suppliers which would have a detrimental impact on cash flow. Obtainment of swift authorisation for newly received purchase invoices ,credit card expenses, staff expenses, petty cash from authorised signatory before posting on accounting system and proceeding to payment thus minimising the risk of paying for a random third party invoice which would have a negative impact on the cash flow. Compliance with suppliers payment deadlines(payment run) for payment of outstanding invoices. Prioritise choice of suppliers included on payment run based on factors such as length of time invoice outstanding, importance of supplier ,importance of purchase order thus reducing the risk that the provision of a service to clients is not jeopardised which would reduce the inflow of monies. Forging strong professional relationships with suppliers to facilitate resolution of queries such as unpaid suppliers invoices, refunds pending, discrepancies between Purchase orders and Invoices.

I am profoundly aware of the main priorities of the sales ledger such as maintaining an up to date Sales ledger through regular reconciliation of Sales ledger, raising invoices and credit notes devoid of errors , accurately allocating receipts(cheques, credit card, bank transfers, bills of exchange) , credit notes ,refunds, discounts allowed ,clients receipts and contras to clients accounts thus ensuring the credit control department will not encounter difficulties recovering doubtful debts which will assure the impact on cash inflows are minimised. Reduce unallocated receipts posted to suspense accounts to ensure debtors balances are accurate and cash inflow is not negatively impacted during the debt recovery process. Resolve customer queries such as unallocated receipts, erroneous invoices ,unsettled refunds by establishing a robust professional relationship with clients.

In my previous role as an Accounts Assistant at Netnames,This Works Ltd I was expected to reconcile credit card receipts (merchant accounts)paid through a payment interface such as sage paybox with the bank statements.I understand variances which could arise such as time lags for deposit of receipts on the bank statements, bank charges, refunds, receipts not yet cleared on the bank statements at month end but received on the payment interface and duplicate customer receipts. It is important to ensure receipts received on the payment interface(platform) match exactly with receipts on the bank statements to minimise any negative impact on cashflow.

I have extensive experience of working as a Credit Control specialist for a diverse range of companies ranging from Smes to Multinationals. I have a good track record of surpassing my targets established for the recovery of doubtful debts in my previous roles at This Works Ltd and London Freight Forwarders. I am profoundly aware of the main priorities pertaining to credit control such as ensuring Debtor account balances are up-to-date and accounting entries relating to discounts allowed ,credit notes, receipts, contras, refunds are accurately allocated to invoices thus ensuring cash inflows are not affected and targets are achieved .Assure invoices and credit notes raised are sent devoid of errors therefore diminishing the risk of a reduced inflow of monies .Continuously forging strong professional relationship with clients through courteous interaction resulting in amicable resolution of unpaid debts thus cash flow is not negatively impacted by non-payment of outstanding debt.

I was entrusted to reconcile the Intercompany accounts for the four French subsidiaries of Netnames group .I understand the importance of ensuring the totals on both the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers are identical and offset to minimise the risk of incompatible entries which could result in discrepancies arising during an annual audit.

I have extensive experience of submitting vat returns and EC sales Lists in my previous role as an Accounts Assistant at London freight forwarders .I understand the importance of reconciling the vat liability account with the sales tax account and purchase tax account and reconciling unreconcilied entries which related to a previous period inorder to ensure the accuracy of the figures included on the vat returns because this could have an adverse effect on cash flow.

Attention to detail, Organisational and Analytical skills

I have a keen eye for detail because I understand the importance of not overlooking any detail irrespective how innocuous it might seem .I scrutinise financial information on a daily basis whether it is supplier invoices or bank receipts it is imperative to do so in order to minimise mistakes such as duplicate entry of invoices or recording duplicate receipts .I have impeccable organisational skills because I intimately understand the importance of planning my work in order to meet deadlines set for the completion of suppliers payment run, month end close, audit compliance and doubtful debt recovery. I possess immaculate analytical skills because I have dissected and scrutinised a variety of financial information ranging from vat compliance documents , creditor statements ,aged debtor reports ,Profit and loss and Balance sheet statements in order to convey the important findings to the Accountant which resulted in cost saving and profit maximisation solutions being adopted.

Taking the Initiative and Problem solving skills

I am overtly aware of the importance of taking the initiative which I embraced on a daily basis at Netnames whether it entailed staunchly calling clients on a daily basis to obtain payment advice, used my initiative to understand the client credit card payment interface (paybox) in order to perform accurate credit card receipts reconciliations ,used my initiative to competently use Navision a software that I was not accustomed to using on a regular basis in order to accurately record accounting entries ,used my initiative to devise a more efficient method to perform bank reconciliations on excel such by using the subtotals function in excel ,used my initiative to forge better relationships with clients and suppliers in order to ensure any assistance required for example during an audit will be offered in a very swift and professional manner, used my initiative when dealing with a complex French banking system such as gaining a better understanding of strict rules concerning banking of cheques ,limits on weekly supplier payments resulting in optimisation of cash flow resources.

I look forward to hearing from you.
