This is a one bedroom home on a nearly 2 acre lot, with views to the Gulf of Nicoya and Esparza, and surrounding mountains. I call this non-development RanchoSilencio because of the lack of close by neighbors. No neighbors are visible from this property! (There are gringo and Tico neighbors down the road so you won't feel isolated.)

The views are incredible, and I have more examples on my web site. Every evening the sunset is an event worth checking out from the porch with a cup of coffee, glass of wine, or beer in hand!

I have toucans, parrots, monkeys, woodpeckers, pizotes, iguanas, butterflies, hummingbirds... well, let's just say a great variety of birds and wildlife!

The house itself is small - great for someone who wants to downsize their life as I did! However if you would like one more bedroom or if you want to enlarge it, it's not expensive at all to do so due to it being built with SIP panels which are strong and long lasting, free from termite damage, and yet easy to knock out a wall or two and add on to, very inexpensively!

The house has a modern kitchen with a stylish gas stove, cabinets with an open metal and wood-slat design, so there is good air circulation to prevent the mold that is often a problem in Costa Rican cabinets.

The bedroom is big enough for a king size bed or two twins and has a fairly large closet space.

The bathroom has a good sized shower and nice sink and plenty of room to put your "stuff" above and below the counter! Again, we (the builder and I made the decisions) utilized a metal design to prevent mold and bugs.

The house has a huge picture window in the living room and 2 big windows in the kitchen so you can always enjoy the view to the Gulf! The bedroom has a view to the side yard and mountain.

The front porch is where you will sit most of the time as you enjoy the fresh air and breeze at 2850 feet and that ever-present gorgeous view of the ocean!

The altitude here makes it cool at night for sleeping but not too hot most afternoons, especially with the breeze - which you don't get so much at the beach or lower altitudes.

Of course, electricity, propane and water are all set up and the property is fully titled with no encumbrances.
I put in all LED lights so the electricity runs around $18-25 a month, and the gas runs about $4-6 a month for the stove. If you cook more it will go up accordingly of course, but it's not expensive! No heater for the house is necessary, and no a.c. is necessary.

If you love nature and don't mind being a bit off the beaten path (it's the only way, really, to appreciate the quiet and beauty of the Natural environment!), then this place is for you!

If you're a bird watcher, or like having fruit trees and a garden (we have some 20 fruit trees growing and are planting more this year), and seeing Nature in all it's incredible forms, you will love Rancho Silencio!
