Subway travels in Korea

Updated 2011-05-26 17:50

Last year I visited Seoul Korea for the first time.  I had two goals in mind when I was visiting Seoul, a) hang out with my girlfriend and b) work on some marketing projects for some clients.  When I arrived in Seoul it seemed just like any other major metropolis however it had a blend of old world meets new and there was a vibe of community.

What I wasn't in store for was the elaborate and extensive subway system. It was pretty massive and when I started using it at first I was truly blown away, intimidated but felt secure it would take me everywhere and it did.

There isn't exactly a lot of english throughout the system well at least there wasn't when I arrived the first time however the second time around in Seoul there was more signage believe it or not.

Traveling in Seoul is amazing because the subway takes you everywhere and for miles and miles and miles it just keeps going. The bus system was something I tackled after I conquered the subway.

I picked up a t-shirt with my seoul metro map at at web site called zazzle once I conquered the subway and I now have my token or momento.

The key to Seoul subway is remembering your stop and keeping a map with you at all times. Not a lot of native people speak English, I mean some do but sometimes it won't be as easy to find someone.

I will be writing more about the subway experience so hope this gives you a bit of info and confidence on tackling the subway in Seoul.
