America Josh

Hello! Im Josh Pugh and I arrived in New York on January 12, 2017, from Adelaide, South Australia (read more about me if youd like) with a suitcase and not much more. While I found lots of resources across the internet to help with my move, I couldnt find a reliable central point with information about the basics; so I thought Id fix that. This site is a compilation of answers to frequently asked questions Ive found on forums, Facebook pages and from my own experience. The content is always changing and evolving as I learn more and as helpful people submit updates. To help you, all pages include Last updated dates right at the bottom. If you think something isn't quite right, have a hot tip, or want to share a coffee (beer) please do email me at josh@americajosh.com - I love a chat. There are also forms at the bottom of every page that will let you send feedback.

The Italian Immigrant

In London I am known as the Italian Immigrant/Neapolitan. I have inherited my Neapolitan side from my father. I am nicknamed English/Londoner by the Neapolitans back in Italy. British thanks to my mother. I have spent a life chatting with my mother whilst sipping tea or cheering Napoli by my fathers side in front of a Neapolitan Pizza Margherita. Grew up in Naples, passed through The University of Birmingham, City of London to end up in New York. The Italian Immigrant tries to link Neapolitan humour with the British understatement (sometimes eccentric) passing through the life events of an Anglo-Neapolitan.
