Fiesta, mañana, music, friendliness, food, peace and tranquility... This is what life is all about in Mexico besides work and routine...

You may bring your cats and dogs to Mexico provided that you bring a health certificate and satisfy other requirements. Other pets are allowed as well, but you must contact the proper authorities for details on how to do so.

The lives of many Mexicans, young and old, revolve around the family. Children are welcome in most social situations, from big neighbourhood parties to intimate gatherings. If you move to Mexico with your children, you’ll have no problem finding activities for them. And while the Mexican education system does have its share of problems, by enrolling your children in school you’ll be providing them with a wonderful opportunity not only to learn Spanish but to make new friends.

Are you planning to move to Mexico? The most important first step is to spend some time in the country prior to making the move. Visit different regions and meet people, both Mexicans and expats. Ask how much it costs to rent houses and apartments, what the local schools are like, and if the area has any serious safety issues.

One of the best things about living in Mexico is travelling in Mexico. The country may look small on a map, but it’s a big place with a wide variety of places to visit. You have many options for travelling around the country, including by plane, bus, and car.

Snowbird Soliloquy

The subtitle of.my blog is The Best of Both World on Both Sides of the Border and Beyond! The blog focus is on reflections and recommendations for retired boomers who are interested in improving the quality of their retirement years by exploring short term residency in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries. I've spent three winters in Mexico, two in Ajijic, Jalisco in the Lake Chapala area, one in San Miguel DE Allende and am cutrently IN San Miquel de Allende until the end of April. Don't like winter? Why suffer in silence waiting for spring when so many countries welcome North American jubilada/jubilados? You, too can be living the dream for a whole lot less than you can imagine!
