Hi, I visited San Pedro in 2010 and found I could not use my mobile/cell phone the entire wk. I was there. I am visiting dandriga/San Ignacio in April 2014 and wonder if this is still the case. Any info you give is appreciated! Thanks, Deb

Hi Melly! I will be in Belize in April 2014 to research moving to Belize in the near future! Your blogs have been very interesting for me and I just wanted to thank you as it is good to read what other Americans have experienced in a "new world"! Cat

NO food shortages...maybe JUNK food shortages, but fresh fruit literally grows on trees here! lol I LOVE the heat! ...as for crime?...There is crime everywhere, even in Europe, and the States. I had a bicycle stolen that I forgot about being outside after dark...They took the lock and all! But crime is not rampant like you might be led to believe by the forums. I liken it to a dissatisfied customer....When a business does a GOOD job, a person tells one friend. If a business does a BAD job, the customer tells everyone they can! If someone was the victim of a crime, they tend to become VERY vocal about it. Consider the source.

How do you manage with the shortage of the food Europeans and North Americans are used to, ant the weather? Also, crime rate is increasing there.
